We are looking for a dynamic Emergency Medicine Physician for the only hospital for the island chain, the Commonwealth Health Center. CHC looking for 3 Emergency medicine physicians to supplement our current staff. 8, 10 and 12 hours shifts available. The Emergency Room, of the Commonwealth Health Center (CHC) sees around 20,000 patients annually. Housing allowance and airfare included.
We would like emergency trained physicians or FP, IM trained physicians with 3 years of emergency department experience. ACLS, ATLS and PALS desirable. Being the only hospital on this island, the ER handles emergency/urgent cases during the hours of 07:30 to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Holidays, weekends, and after regular working hours the ER treats patients with emergency and non-emergency cases.
There are 4 treatment beds, 2 observation rooms, 1 trauma room, and 2 exam rooms for non-urgent cases. ER is staffed with a minimum of 4 nurses and 1 ER physician per shift. The Hospital has a 4 bed ICU, NICU and a Dialysis Unit for 100 renal failure patients plus state of the art diagnostic facilities. Relocation and living expenses are covered.
